Porsche 911

Entering the marketplace in 1964, the Porsche 911 became one of the greatest sports cars the world has ever seen - a legend in its own lifetime.

Porsche had built an enviable reputation for quality, lightweight, fast, and reliable cars. The rear-engined, 2+2 cockpit format was popular and so was retained in the new 911. However, the usual four-cylinder engine was replaced by a six-cylinder with cast iron cylinder walls in aluminium casings, and five-speed gearbox. The bonnet design allowed for luggage space, thanks to a compact front suspension design. Top speed was 130mph with a 0 to 60 in under 11 seconds.
